As you head off for summer fun, here are some free activities that will keep you and your family busy all summer long:

Storytime at the Amon Carter Museum: Families can bring their little ones to listen to tales, then discuss related artworks. After the stories, create your own work of art while enjoying cookies and lemonade! No reservations are required.
Good to know: Each week, participating children will be entered into a raffle to win all the books read at this year’s Storytime. The winner will be selected after the last program on July 25. There is no program on July 4.
Recommended ages: 11 and younger
When: 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 20 (Hello Yellow), June 27(Going Green), July 11(True Blue), July 18(Incredible Indigo) and July 25 (Very, Very Violet)

Build and Grow Clinic at Lowe's: DreamWorks Animation and Lowe's have teamed up to offer hands-on workshops throughout the summer. The hour-long clinics will feature projects related to DreamWorks movies such as Kung Fu Panda.
Good to know:  Each child will receive a kid's apron, goggles and a take-home, wooden project. Register online at lowes.com/buildandgrow to reserve your spot.
Recommended ages: Ages 2-5
When: 10 a.m., Saturday, June 23, July 14, July 28, August 11 and August 25; 2 p.m., Sunday, June 24, July 15, July 29, August 12 and August 26.

Family Festivals at the Kimbell: There are two free summer events at the museum that feature creative art-making activities and live performances inspired by artworks on view. On July 15, celebrate National Ice Cream Day with free scoop of Blue Bell Ice Cream's newest flavor. There will also be family tours and children films. On July 28, discover the ancient Japanese festival tradition where children record their wishes on beautiful paper decorations during the seventh-month celebration of Tanabata. Along with children's films and enchanting folktales, activities will highlight artworks in the Kimbell's Asian art collection.
Good to know:  No reservations necessary; admission to the permanent collection is always FREE.

Atmos Energy Presents FREE Dallas Public Library Children's Activities at NorthPark: Activities include yoga, science, and puppet shows.
Good to know: On June 16, join CBS 11 and TXA 21 for Stephanie's Day, a free event for special needs childrena and their families. The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. between NorthCourt and GAP.

Friday Fireworks in Grapevine: Every Friday night throughout the summer, you can feast your eyes on a 12-minute fireworks display that can be seen from any Lake Grapevine Park.
Good to know: Don't forget to download the music that accompanies the fireworks to your MP3 Player at grapevinetexasusa.com. Best viewing locations are your favorite lake parks or on top of the parking garage at the Gaylord Texan Resort for the Garage Rock Out Party. Don't miss the 30th Annual Fireworks Extravaganza Over Lake Grapevine at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4.

When: 9:30 p.m. Fridays through August 31.
