SAGINAW -- An antique store in Saginaw was gutted Tuesday after a man poured gasoline inside and set it on fire, police said.

The man walked into Sisters Antique Mall, in the 100 block of North Saginaw Boulevard, about 5:15 p.m., poured the gas in the store and then fled, police spokesman Damon Ing said.

The arsonist had not been arrested Tuesday night.

When firefighters arrived, flames were coming through the doors of the metal building.

A woman was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening chemical burns from the gasoline, Ing said. Investigators didn't know whether the man intended to douse her or the merchandise consumed in the fire.

The fire was extinguished by 6:50 p.m. Ing said the 6,000-square-foot structure was "a total loss."
