Aledo Swim Cats Compete at Western Hills Shootout

At the recent Western Hill Shootout, the Aledo Swim Team had five swimmers finish in the top 16.

Each swimmer competing and finishing in the top five received a trophy and those finishing in the top 16 earned points toward overall team scores.

Kira Scholsberg was named girls Pentathlon Champion finishing with the following times: 50 Free (25.43); 100 IM (1:02.38); 50 Fly (28.63); 50 Back (29.08); and the 50 Breaststroke (30.91); making her overall accumulative time 2:56.43.

Cameron Martinez was named boys Pentathlon Champion with times of 50 Free (23.69); 100 IM (57.08); 50 Fly (25.11); 50 Back (27.68); and the 50 Breaststroke (29.49); making his overall accumulative time 2:43.05.

Fifth place honors went to Connor Kennemer, with overall time of 2:50.98; sixth-place went to Meredith Schlosberg with a time of 3:10.53; and 11th place went to Blake Babcock with a time of 3:07.71.

The second part of the meet was the "shootout." The first event was the 50 free and the top 16 times were taken and advanced to the next round (2 heats of 8 swimmers).

Top finishers for Aledo were: Kira Schlosberg and Meredith Schlosberg for the girls and Martinez, Connor Kennemer and Blake Babcock for the boys.

The Swim Cats compete Friday in the District 7-4A Championships at the Keller ISD Natatorium.
