Pool water
We are all happy to have rain, but with lots of rain there comes the dilemma of excessive pool water. Those of us in older Keller/North Fort Worth area neighborhoods have enough problems with excessive storm water drainage due to rapid development. Yet it becomes very discouraging days after a storm, more water streams into neighbors yards as homeowners back wash or drain their swimming pools. Please consider where that water is going. I don't know proper pool drainage protocol, but it certainly is not draining it into your neighbor's property.Sincerely,--Gabrielle Gordon, Unincorporated Tarrant County between Keller and Fort WorthSpeaking upWe moved to Trophy Club seven years ago, blessed to find a home in a town with a strong emphasis on family, community and a balanced percentage of multi-family for our town. Beck Properties and the Town Council want to up end that mix. By approving PD-30 in its current state and rezoning the 26 acres to include more multi-family, we stand to change our demographic from 6.3 percent multifamily density to 19.4 percent. What does that do to already limited public resources, schools and property values?I firmly believe our town leaders are desperate due to massive oversight on recent pet projects (dog park, splash pad), and an ill-conceived million dollar roundabout. The domino effect of massive spending has sent our council running to Beck and knows they are desperate for the revenue so he's bullying his way into rezoning. He tries to convince us that without these apartments we can't support the development. He claims families won't occupy these units. He says it will only be "urban dwellers." He says he can't sell Brownstones in this market. I say it's more profitable for him to lease units over and over than sell a unit one time. Our leaders have warned us in open meeting that our activities embarrass the town. Our petition with over 2,000 signatures was not even acknowledged. I challenge the council members to drum up that many signatures in support of this. The citizens are angry and we will not give up or forget this.--Kim Perryman, Trophy Club Crossing guardMost of the drivers are very polite,Stopping at cross walks with pedestrians in sight. But I'm concerned about the drivers who textSo don't see the danger that's coming up next.Five distracted drivers the other daySped through the crosswalk with children in the way.Keeping children safe is my responsibility. In the future I hope my STOP sign they'll see.--Barbara Ferguson, School Crossing Guard, RoanokeEmail letters to keditor@kellercitizen.com, include name, address, phone number.
