An attempted robbery at a southwest Fort Worth apartment complex turned into a gunfight Tuesday and the robber was shot several times, police said.

The resident who reported the shooting was not injured, police said. Officers were dispatched about 10:30 p.m. to the Cameron Creek Apartments in the 5200 block of Cameron Creek Circle in the Cityview area.

The resident told police that after two robbers confronted him, he and one robber exchanged fire.

The second assailant got away and is being sought by police. The wounded man was hospitalized, but his condition was unavailable Wednesday.
