-- Dorothy Green,

Fort Worth

Jeers: To the woman at Melear postal facility Nov. 18 who was parked in a handicapped spot without displaying a sticker for her Chrysler 300. After knee surgery, I find myself using handicapped parking spaces designated for people with disabilities. Please be mindful of where you park.

-- Joyce Holland, Arlington

Cheers: To the couple who on Veterans Day thanked my dad for his service while we were eating dinner at Armend's in Southlake and then paid for our dinner. My father, a World War II Marine veteran, told me that no one had ever done that. He appreciated your kindness.

-- Penny Cornali, Southlake

Cheers: To the girl at Weatherford Regional Medical Center who paid the additional money for my lunch after I left my purse in the car. I hope your generosity comes back to you tenfold.

-- Jean and Arvie Cooper (World War II veteran), Fort Worth

Cheers: To veterinarian Betty McDaniel of the Animal Clinic of Forest Hill! Thanks to her "hunch" my Lexie is alive and doing beautifully. You'd never know Lexie's about 14 and was critically ill a month ago. Thank you for saving Lexie's life.

-- Suzanne C. Reiter, Fort Worth

Cheers: To John at Haltom's Jewelers in Sundance Square. I dropped off my favorite watch, a gift from my wife, and John gave excellent service. He replaced the watch's battery with a complimentary one and made sure I was satisfied. Thanks for reminding us that great customer service still exists!

-- Jim Austin, Fort Worth

Cheers: To Chick-fil-A in Hurst for its generous donation of lunch for our Best Buddies Party at Birdville High School. The kids enjoyed their lunch and the special visit from the cow! Thanks for a wonderful party you helped provide.

Jeers: To the Arlington resident for taking a puppy, especially a short-legged Corgi, for a daily three- to five-mile run/walk. You're looking for a new place to run? Aim for your vet for advice on the capability of any dog to match your stride. Imagine yourself being on a leashed run.

-- Judith Hedges, Arlington

Cheers: To all my doctors, nurses, physical therapists and respiratory therapists on the seventh floor and in ICU at Plaza Medical Center after my knee surgery on Nov. 2. The nurses knew I was in trouble and got me to ICU. The care I received was excellent and I am so grateful. You're the best.

-- Mia Russo, Arlington

Cheers: To Dr. Mayfield, Nurse Jeremy and MRI technician Heather at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest. Not only did my husband receive excellent care, but when the staff discovered his birthday was the next day, they brought him a gift and a card. God bless those who serve with genuine concern for their patients.

-- Belinda Scholl, Fort Worth

Cheers: To Michael at AAA Auger Plumbing for telling us about and installing a device that lets you have instant hot water. What a saving of our precious water. And I consider it affordable. It really works.
