Texas added 20,800 jobs in November, driven again by the private sector, bringing the state to 226,800 jobs added over the past year, the Texas Workforce Commission said Friday.
The states jobless rate dropped to 8.1 percent, down from 8.4 percent in October.Texas civilian labor force also grew by 21,000 in November, and is at 12.3 million workers.Tom Pauken, the Workforce Commission chairman, said the private sector added 22,700 jobs in November.Nine of the 11 major industries added jobs in November, led by leisure and hospitality, which added 5,600.Mining and logging added 2,600 jobs, and is up 42,600 over the past year.Financial activities added 4,800 jobs, and was up 17,400 over the year.Manufacturing added 3,900 job, and was up 25,200 over the year.Here's a look at how the Fort Worth-Arlington market shapes up.Scott Nishimura, (817) 390-7808
