Trader Joes, a limited assortment, value-priced gourmet grocer, confirmed late Monday that it will open its first North Texas store in Fort Worth next spring.
In an e-mail, spokesperson Alison Mochizuki said the California-based chain will open a 12,500-square-foot store at 2701 S. Hulen St., which is between West Vickery Boulevard and Bellaire Drive South. A slightly larger store also will open about the same time in The Woodlands, a Houston suburb, with the two stores representing Trader Joes first foray into Texas.Mochizuki gave no indication how many stores will eventually be rolled out in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. The German-owned chain of more than 360 stores operates independently of its sibling company, ALDI.
