BURLESON - With DeMarcus Williams leading the way, Burleson Centennial scored 20 fourth-quarter points to defeat Pampa 27-9 in a non-district game at Burleson Stadium.
The sophomore running back, who missed last week's game because of an injury, broke touchdown runs of 53 and 44 yards in the fourth quarter. Williams also scored on a one-yard run in the second quarter and finished with 271 yards on 44 carries.
Centennial limited Pampa to 138 yards and intercepted four passes. Trent Nuall had two interceptions and Garrett Crook and Shawn Brown had one each.
With Centennial ahead 13-9, Brown's 24-yard punt return to the Pampa 16 set up a 14-yard scoring toss from Brady Allen to Grayham Stowe with 6:36 to play.
Three plays after a Brown interception, Williams scored from 53 yards out for a 27-9 advantage.
The biggest play of the first half came on the final play when Pampa's Colten Adams hit a 51-yard field goal as time expired for a 9-7 lead. The Harvesters (3-4) got into range with a five-play, 37-yard drive.
Game postponed
Three minutes into the second quarter of Arlington Bowie and North Crowley's game, everything went black at Panther Stadium and surrounding households. Oncor spokeswoman Ashley Burton said a vehicle apparently hit an Oncor pole, causing power to be lost across the area.
With no timetable for when the power would return, the game was postponed until 1 p.m. today. The Volunteers (3-2, 1-1) hold a 14-0 lead over North Crowley (2-3, 2-0) after a 35-yard fumble return by Edwin Freeman and a 59-yard rumble by Russell Hansbrough.
As of 9 p.m., approximately 2,000 homes and businesses were without power.
