Secret of success:

The success of the MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival can largely be attributed to the high quality of its visual and performing artists. Out of the 1,501 artist applicants received from around the world, only 213 were selected by a jury of local, regional and national arts professionals. More than $4 million worth of art was sold during the festival. Of the nearly 1,000 entertainers who were reviewed, only 300 were selected to perform on three different stages. In addition to the top-tier art and entertainment, the festival combined several social media strategies with a focused public relations campaign, and incorporated a high-end iPhone app and website with traditional print, radio, TV and outdoor marketing to make this year's event a huge success. New enhancements to the festival included free water distributed through U/V filtered dispensers, upgraded restrooms and enhanced transportation options.
