Barber follows ex-Cowboys Hurd, Williams to Chicago

The Chicago Bears continued to stockpile former Dallas Cowboys on Saturday, signing running back Marion Barber to a two-year deal.

The Cowboys cut ties with Barber on Thursday, the same day they parted with receiver Roy Williams, who also landed in Chicago. Last week the Bears signed Sam Hurd, an unrestricted free agent who was a backup receiver and special teams standout for the Cowboys.

The Bears also agreed to a one-year deal with nose tackle Amobi Okoye, a former first-round pick of the Houston Texans who was snapped up after being cut Saturday.

Barber spent the last six seasons with the Cowboys, running for 4,358 yards and 47 touchdowns -- sixth in the NFL during that span. He added 1,280 yards receiving.

Eagles ink Jenkins

The Philadelphia Eagles signed free agent defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins to a five-year contract on Saturday and traded former defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley to the Cleveland Browns for a fifth-round pick in next year's draft.

Jenkins is the fifth major acquisition for the Eagles, who signed free agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha on Friday. Both Asomugha and Jenkins were rumored to be coveted by the Cowboys.

Jenkins, who can play both end and tackle, had a career-high seven sacks in 11 games with the Super Bowl-champion Packers last year.

Big deal for Peyton

The Colts have reached an agreement with four-time MVP Peyton Manning that will likely keep him in Indianapolis for the rest of his career.

The contract is reportedly worth $90 million over five years, $69 million in the first three.

By getting the long-term deal done, Manning's salary cap number will be reduced, allowing the team to sign more of its own free agents.

Bengals: Former TCU QB Andy Dalton's first day at practice didn't go as planned -- storms delayed workouts at Cincinnati's Georgetown, Ky., camp. Dalton signed a four-year contract Friday. Also Saturday, LB Roddrick Muckelroy, a fourth-round pick in 2010 from Texas, said via Twitter that he ruptured an Achilles' tendon in his first practice and is out for the season.

Giants: Pro Bowl DE Osi Umenyiora has ended his holdout after a day and reported to camp.

Saints: RB Mark Ingram, one of New Orleans' two first-round picks, agreed to a four-year deal with the team.

Panthers: QB Cam Newton, the No. 1 overall pick in April, practiced for the first time after coming to terms with Carolina on Friday.

Seahawks: Coach Pete Carroll says he expects QB Tarvaris Jackson, signed last week, to be the team's starter.

Rams: DE Robert Quinn, taken by St. Louis 14th overall, has agreed to a four-year deal.

Ravens: Chris Carr, the team's most consistent cornerback last season, has signed a four-year contract to stay in Baltimore.

Cardinals: Arizona signed free agent CB Richard Marshall, formerly of the Panthers, and first-round draft pick Patrick Peterson, also a cornerback.

Steelers: Free agent WR Plaxico Burress spent Saturday in Pittsburgh, talking to the team that drafted him in 2000.

Labor: A person familiar with negotiations told the AP that the NFL Players Association has re-established itself as a union, a key step needed to finish the collective bargaining agreement that ended the lockout.
