A

ROUND ROCK -- Zach Brashear had three hits and two RBIs and pitched three innings for the save to lead Cameron Yoe to a 7-3 Class 2A baseball state championship against Nacogdoches Central Heights on Thursday.

Brashear's save came a day after he pitched a complete-game shutout for Yoe (35-7-1) in the semifinals.

Class A

Johnson City 7, Blue Ridge 2: Cody Smith pitched 52/3 strong innings and had a run-scoring hit to lead Johnson City (32-6) past Blue Ridge (29-6-1) for the Class A title, the school's first state championship in more than 60 years. Smith allowed seven hits and one earned run, while Laramie Blackwell picked up the save and scored twice after getting the semifinals' win.

Class 4A

Wichita Falls Rider 3, Brenham 1: Cameron Allen fired a three-hit, 12-strikeout complete game as Wichita Falls Rider beat defending champion Brenham. Allen's gem gave the Raiders (38-7) a measure of payback for the 2010 semifinal loss to the Cubs (36-8-1).

Corpus Christi Calallen 6, Mesquite Poteet 5 (10): Wyatt Mathisen scored the winning run on an error in the bottom of the 10th as Corpus Christi Calallen (39-5) defeated Mesquite Poteet (31-8) in the other semifinal.

With two outs, courtesy runner Christian Cantu was off first base, drawing an attempted pickoff throw which sailed into right field allowing Mathisen to score the winning run.
