Sundance Square plans fifth annual series of free outdoor movies
Fort Worth in June brings beautiful night skies, and what better way to enjoy it with your family than with a free outdoor movie in the heart of downtown Fort Worth? Sundance Square kicks off its fifth annual outdoor summer movie series Thursday with Raiders of the Lost Ark. Free movies are shown each Thursday night at dusk (around 9 p.m.), through June 30, on a huge screen in the Chisholm Trail parking lot. Seating begins at 7 p.m., and beverages, popcorn and sweets are available at a snack-bar area. Guests are allowed to bring "to-go" food from area restaurants, as well as chairs or blankets to sit on. Get there early (8 p.m.) with the kids so they can experience their own adventure, climbing a rock wall. Folding chairs can be rented for $2. Sundance lots and parking garages offer free parking after 5 p.m. Additional movies include Julie & Julia (June 9), Despicable Me (June 16), The Bucket List (June 23) and Seabiscuit (June 30). No pets or outside coolers, food or drinks.
