FORT WORTH — Police are continuing their investigation this morning into the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man in far east Fort Worth Monday afternoon.

The victim, whose identity had not been released as of this morning, had apparently been involved in an altercation with another man outside a building in the 5200 block of Mosson Road shortly before 5 p.m., said Sgt. Pedro Criado, a police spokesman.

"During the altercation, the victim was shot one time in the chest," Criado said.

Criado said the victim ran to the 5300 block of Mosson, where a bystander called 911.

The victim was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The suspect was still at large as of this morning.
