Our 10-year-old son has a fear and fascination with the weather, especially tornadoes.

When the news stations interrupt the regularly scheduled programming to give tornado alerts in the spring, he  asks the same question: "Is that near us?"

So, I was anxious to see his reaction when my husband started watching Discovery channel's Storm Chasers. Seeing the science and silliness behind storm chasing was a great way for him to face his fears and learn a little something along the way.

For those who watch the show, you know the trials and tribulations of Sean Casey who has been on a quest to capture the birth of a tornado with his IMAX camera. Ever wonder what became of his film?

On Friday and Saturday, you and your family can watch Casey's IMAX film, Tornado Alley, at the Omni Theater at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. You'll also get a chance to meet two of the film's storm chasers at a free meet-and-greet outside the museum's main entrance. Storm chasers Brandon Ivey and Marcus Gutierrez, who drove the Tornado Intercept Vehicle, or TIV, will be on hand along with one of the 14,000-pound TIVs, which will be on display. Bring your cameras!
