Ok, I finally did it. On February 1, 2011, I put my family on a budget. I've tried to do this in the past and it always failed miserably. I swear that when my husband hears the word "budget" he subconsciously thinks it means to spend more money. However, that being said, I really think it will work this time, because we have a goal. Our mortgage is scheduled to be paid off in 34 months and we want to pay it off by the end of the year, so we can buy some property.
We do have a certain amount every month, that we should not go over, but we are going to be as frugal as possible. I'm actually hoping that we'll only spend half of our allotted budget every month. Also, I plan on giving updates at dinner everyday, so we know exactly where we stand on our budget.
Thanks to the ice and snow this week, we haven't spent money on anything! Four days down and 330 days left to go.
