A water main break closed several streets in downtown Fort Worth Monday morning.
A 6-inch line broke at the intersection of East 3rd and Calhoun streets at about 8 a.m., said Mary Gugliuzza, Fort Worth Water Department public education coordinator. East 3rd Street is closed at Commerce Street and Calhoun Street is closed from 2nd to 4th streets, Gugliuzza said. Several buildings in the area, including the AMC Palace Theatre on East 3rd Street, were without water when the wrong valve was shut in the process of closing the main, Gugliuzza said. The water for those buildings came back on before the line was completely repaired at about 1 p.m., Gugliuzza said.Street repairs were still being made at 3:45 p.m., Gugliuzza said.Have more to add?
