Kick the Can: Remember when kicking an aluminum can down the street was something you did, just because? Now there's a great reason. The Tarrant Area Food Bank's annual "Kick the Can" event invites the public to watch teams of costumed competitors and mascots kicking empty cans, and the proceeds feed the hungry.

Nasher Sculpture Center: The popular Target First Saturdays event features art projects, tours, scavenger hunt, sculpture demo, storytime and take-home art activities.
Good to know: Family tours are at 10:15 a.m, 11:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.; NasherKids Meal available for puchase at Nasher Cafe from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Santa at Parks Mall in Arlington: Get your holiday card portrait or your child's holiday wish list done early. Children visiting Santa will receive a free coloring book, It Takes Just One, while supplies last.
Good to know: Santa visits are free. Photo packages are available to purchase (hint: Click here for a coupon). Santa will be taking breaks throughout the day to feed the reindeer and check on toy production at the North Pole.

Santa's Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops: Explore the Winter Wonderland and get treated to free games, activities and crafts. You can even get a free 4x6 photo of Santa (packages available for purchase).
Good to know: Free Santa Bandz to the first 150 kids to visit every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Thanksgiving Day from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Not free, but close: A limited number of Great Wolf Lodge $15 Day Passes are available. Big Brothers Big Sisters invites families to experience the Great Wolf Lodge without paying the cost of a room. DFW families get great entertainment for cheap and Big Brothers Big Sisters gets to mentor more children. All proceeds from tickets sold benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Good to know: Water park wristbands may be redeemed at the Grapevine, Texas location only and may only be used Monday through Friday, through November 19, 2010. Wristband valid for water park admission only. No exchanges or refunds. One wristband must be presented for each individual entering the water park. All children must be accompanied by parent or adult chaperone and all guests are required to have a waterpark bracelet to enter Bear Track Landing Waterpark. There is an observation area in the main lobby. Lockers are available for a minimal charge. No food or drink may be brought in from the outside.

When: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday-Friday through November 19, except holidays. Tickets cannot be used November 11.
