I'm back from maternity leave and ready to take on my blog again. For those of you who have been following the Friday Freebies blog, you'll notice a change. Instead of a Friday-Friday format, I will be compiling my top picks of free family friendly activities in Dallas/Fort Worth.

AdventureAsia: Family Day at The Crow: Celebrate the opening of The Mystical Arts of Tibet exhibit with cool family activities. Children can design their own prayer flags that reflect an act of kindness or create Tibetan friendship scarves for loved ones.  Families can also add their  own personal touch to a community mandala, a sacred sand painting based in geometry.
Good to know: At 2 p.m., join the monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery as they perform a special group blessing for children. Free, but donations to the monastery are appreciated.

Lebanese Food Festival: Take your family on a journey to experience Lebanese food and culture. There will be a children's play area, folk dances and music and door prizes.

Pick out a pumpkin

Pumpkins on the Prairie: Enjoy the cooler temperatures of Fall and head to this fun pumpkin patch. Your children can play in the bounce house,  run through the hay maze and play games in a Kid's Patch.
Good to know: Pick out and purchase a pumpkin. All proceeds will benefit Grace Avenue Missions, Ministries and Assistance

Oktoberfest: Wunderbar! Families can get tasty food, watch live entertainment, play in the children's area and browse the booths for unique, handcrafted arts and crafts.
Good to know: Don't forget to sign up your dachshund in the popular wiener dog race on Saturday, October 2!
