In-N-Out Burger to open at West 7th in Fort Worth
It's official: In-N-Out Burger, the well-known California-based hamburger chain, is coming to the West 7th development, its first Tarrant County location.
Speculation has swirled for months that the popular chain was considering a Fort Worth location. It will be at the northwest corner of West Seventh and Currie streets.
"It has been a challenge to keep the exciting news quiet," said Kirk Williams, senior vice president of development at Cypress Equities, which is developing West 7th, just west of downtown Fort Worth.
The family-run company said it expects to employ 55 to 65 people at the location, scheduled to open in mid-2011. It will be open 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
In-N-Out Burger is known for a limited menu of traditional burgers, fries and milkshakes. It started in 1948 and has about 250 locations in California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah, and reportedly is eyeing a site in Garland as well.
"When first hearing about the company's expansion plans, we immediately knew West 7th would be the best fit," Williams said. "Lease negotiations have been in the works for months."
In-N-Out agreed.
"We do our due diligence to find primary corridors of activity and vibrancy," restaurant spokesman Carl Van Fleet said. "West 7th fits that requirement nicely."
