Arlington places 7th on magazine's 'hotbeds of sex' list
ARLINGTON -- Men's Health magazine is again showing Arlington some love.
Last year, the magazine ranked Arlington No. 1 on its list of Top Fast Food Towns.
And in 2007, the city earned the No. 4 spot on the magazine's list of Best Place to Find a Mate.
The magazine's latest, well, honor? It seems Arlington is America's seventh Most Sex-Happy City.
Other Texas cities also scored well in what the magazine calls "hotbeds of sex."
Austin is No. 1, which is not surprising since the University of Texas allows students to pick up three free condoms per day at the Health Promotion Resource Center.
Dallas came at No. 2, Houston No. 10, Lubbock No. 11, Fort Worth No. 12 and San Antonio No. 15.
The sexual activity may have helped Arlington slim down as well.
In 2008, Arlington came in at No. 2 on the Fattest Cities list. This year, it dropped to No. 54, which is still fatter than Fort Worth, the 66th-ranked city for pure poundage.
In keeping with good taste, Arlington officials declined to comment on the latest rankings, which were based on sales of condoms and sex toys, birthrates and rates of sexually transmitted diseases.
