Former Birdville district employee arrested in indecency case
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- A former educational assistant with the Birdville school district was arrested this week, months after he quit his job after being accused of having sexual contact with an underage student.
James Carroll Glawson, 58, turned himself in Wednesday and was released on $10,000 bail the same day, after bail was lowered from $150,000, according to police and the Tarrant County district clerk's office.
Glawson faces a charge of indecency with a child by sexual contact, police said.
The student complained about the sexual contact during the past school year, and school officials notified police, said Mark Thomas, a district spokesman.
There were multiple incidents over an unspecified time, said Keith Bauman, a police spokesman.
Glawson, who assisted in a computer lab, resigned in March after being told of the student's complaint, Thomas said.
He declined to disclose the student's gender or the school.
Glawson was hired in March 2004, Thomas said.
