New Parents Tour: Pack up the baby stroller and join the tour designed to introduce new parents (with babies in tow) to a variety of artworks at the Amon Carter Museum. Refreshments will be provided after the program.Tour begins outside the Museum Store. Reservations are not required, but we recommend that parents call 817.989.5031 to receive helpful instructions. Parents are encouraged to park in the lot on Lancaster Avenue, south of the museum, and enter the museum through the accessible Lancaster entrance.

Snake Feedings: Watch the River Legacy Naturalists feed the snakes on display at the Living Science Center. Stay after for a brief Q&A with the Naturalist.

Sounds of Spring Concert Series: The whole family can enjoy the music of Big Band Les Elgart Orchestra. North Richland Hills' own The Cut Off will open at 6:50 p.m. Children can enjoy the Kidz Zone with a variety of games and arts and crafts.
Good to know: Don't forget to bring lawn chairs. Beaker's Cookin' Shack at NRH2O will be selling snacks. Smoking, video recording, audio recording, glass containers and alcohol are prohibited.

Yoga in the Park: Complimentary all-level yoga class in CenterPark. This is a great way to try out local instructors!  Wear comfortable clothing and bring your mat or towel and water bottle.

All Family Boat Show: Boating enthusiasts, families and outdoors aficionados can test drive a variety of boats including pontoons, family run-abouts, wakeboard power boats and cruisers.  Kids can participate in fishing, a casting contest and an action packed wakeboard demonstration.
Good to know:  Come by with your boat on Saturday and get a FREE safety inspection. You can picnic in East Hill Park adjacent to Pier 121 Marina.

Denton Cinco de Mayo: The fiesta begins with a parade at 10 a.m. and continues at Quakertown Park where activities include arts and crafts, entertainment, a soccer exhibition and piñatas for children ages 1 to 6.
Good to know: The parade will depart at 10 a.m. from the Texas Woman's University parking lot, corner of Locust and Oakland streets, proceeds down Elm St. to the Court House Square, around the Quarkertown Park, and ends at the Civic Center parking lot.

Mariachi Los Gavilanes: Formed in 1978 before most of its current members were even born, this professional mariachi group has performed throughout Texas, California, and at the Tuscan Mariachi Festival. Among their many honors was their invitation to be the sole mariachi to perform for former Mexican President Vicente Fox on his first visit to Dallas.

African Film Festival 2010: DFW International Community Alliance presents the region's only African Film Festival, the first event in the three-weekend African Unity Festival. Four films about African Women's Issues, and Music for the Struggle for Justice, will be shown in their original languages, with English subtitles. Experts in these two topics will form panels that discuss the cultural and historical issues with the audience.
Good to know: Films are suitable for families; parking is also free, either in front of the Meadows School or in the Meadows Museum Parking Garage located at 5900 Bishop.

Monthly Mini Model Build: On the first Tuesday of every month, kids can learn how to build a cool mini model, and take it home – for free! The Wisdom of Viejo Antonio: Local artist and storyteller Frida Espinosa Muller presents this tale based on Mayan stories and research. Her show brings the culture and art of the ancient Mayans to life by providing a performance with masks and audience participation and a stimulating context for understanding the universal wisdom of the 2,000-year-old Mayan culture.

Amon Carter Museum: Explore one of the nation’s preeminent collections of American art, from works by the early 19th-century artist-explorers through those of the mid-20th-century modernists to the work of contemporary photographers. The museum also holds one of the most comprehensive collections of work by Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell.
