Midlothian woman killed in train collision
MANSFIELD — A 28-year-old Midlothian woman died early Thursday when her car was struck by a train, according to police.
Amanda Lynn May was driving a white passenger car in the 4500 block of Britton Road in far southeast Mansfield when her vehicle was struck by an eastbound Burlington Northern Sante Fe train, police said.
Medical personnel pronounced May dead at the scene shortly after 8 a.m., according to authorities.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, said Thad Penkala, police spokesman.
