Dallas police seek man in pregnant woman's death
Dallas police are searching for a 28-year-old man who they described as a person of interest in the beating death of a pregnant woman whose body was dumped on a roadside last week.
Her unborn baby did not survive, police said.
Dallas police identified the man as Manuel Edgar Perez who may be driving a red 2001 Dodge Ram four-door extended cab with Texas license plates. The plate number is 20CYV4.
The woman, 31-year-old Elena Reyna, who was five months pregnant, was found on the morning of March 2 in the 7800 block of Elam Road, near Buckner Boulevard in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood.
Witnesses who called 911 said they saw a man standing over Reyna and that he drove off in a red Dodge pickup truck when people stopped to help her.
Reyna was unconscious when she was taken to a Dallas hospital. She died about 7:15 a.m. Monday, police said.
