Mansfield police have released video images of two women who they believe are connected to recent thefts of purses at four churches, at least.

The images were recorded at an unknown retail store after the two made purchases with stolen credit cards, said Thad Penkala, a Mansfield police spokesman.

"We would like to speak to them," Penkala said. "Right now, they are just persons of interests."

The purse thefts may be related to other thefts at daycare centers and nursing homes outside Mansfield, Penkala added.

Police did not say which churches were targeted. One has been identified as First United Methodist Church of Mansfield.
