Work on Belknap Street downtown is nearly over, city says
Drivers putting up with morning traffic jams on Belknap Street downtown don't have much longer to fume.
Construction that prompted lane closures and backed up traffic at times to the East Belknap bridge is nearing completion.
The city is installing sidewalks and working on traffic signals related to construction at the Tarrant County College downtown campus, according to the Transportation and Public Works Department.
As the work continues, the right lane of Belknap from Calhoun Street to Jones Street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sunday.
Drivers are also encouraged to watch for heavy trucks.
