A 24-year-old man was killed late Sunday night after he lost control of his Ford Mustang on Interstate 20 and crashed into the guardrail to the Green Oaks Boulevard entrance ramp, police said.
The fatal wreck occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-20 shortly after 10:30 p.m. Sunday, police said. The man, identified as Ryan Taft, was pronounced dead at the scene.A female passenger was also injured and was taken by ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, said Arlington police spokeswoman Tiara Ellis Richard. The passenger was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Richard said.Witnesses told police that they saw the Mustang speeding on the roadway before losing control and crashing. It was unclear if a rain storm that passed through the area shortly before the wreck played a role, police said. The accident remained under investigation Monday morning, Richard said. There were two other crashes involving other vehicles on the same roadway after this fatal wreck as others tried to avoid the accident scene, Richard said. No injuries were reported in those crashes, she said.
