ARLINGTON -- Two men accused of setting fire in August to the bleachers at Martin High school and a temporary school building at Young Junior High School are in custody at the Tarrant County Jail.
Tyler Wray Teague, 19, and Jordan Eric Thames, 21, were arrested last month by Arlington fire marshals.The men were identified through witnesses, video surveillance and Crime Stoppers tips, Arlington Deputy Fire Marshal Darin Niederhaus said.The men are facing charges of arson/damage of a habitation, arson and criminal mischief. A charge of aggravated kidnapping was added against Teague. It was unclear Wednesday if that charge is related to the arson case. Teague remains jailed on bail of $85,000. Thames is being held on bail of $30,000. On Aug. 30, fire destroyed about a third of the bleachers at the Martin field, where the freshman and junior varsity football teams play. The school is at 4501 W. Pleasant Ridge Road.Shortly afterward, a trash bin fire was reported in the 4300 block of Southwest Green Oaks Boulevard. The blaze at the building at Young Junior High in the 3200 block of Woodside Drive was reported at 3:41 a.m. The school is five to six blocks from Martin.That morning, witnesses told fire officials they saw at least two people running away from bleachers at the field at Martin. No injuries were reported.Teague attended Young Junior High and Martin High School and graduated in 2008, according to district records. Thames also attended school in Arlington at some point, but information wasn't available about which school or if he graduated.
