Wrecks snarls traffic in north Fort Worth

Afternoon traffic was snarled Monday at two choke points in north Fort Worth, according to reports.

The more recent wreck was reported at 11:50 p.m. on southbound Interstate 35W at Belknap Street.

There were no reports of injuries in the tie-up between two tractor trailers, but there was a fuel spill, and only a left lane was passable, according to a police report.

The interstate was reopened around 3:30 p.m., said Michael Peters, spokesman for Texas Department of Transportation.

Earlier, another wreck was reported around 10 a.m. on westbound Northwest Loop 820 at Marine Creek Parkway.

It was unclear if anyone was hurt, but the wreck between a large diesel truck and a red Mustang, but traffic was still congested in the area at 12:30 p.m.

Traffic.com indicated that the wreckage was cleared sometime Monday afternoon.
