A man and two teens were in police custody Friday following their arrests on suspicion of robbing a man at gunpoint Thursday in north Fort Worth, according to a report.

The robbery was reported at 10:17 a.m. Thursday in the 9700 block of Ben Hogan Lane.

A 36-year-old man told police he was assaulted by three people, two with guns.

"A cell phone and debit card (were) taken in the offense and the victim sustained a broken nose and bruised ribs as a result of the suspects kicking and punching him," according to the report.

The assailants left the area in a black 1996 Mazda pickup, police said.

Within an hour, a hit-and-run accident happened in the 5300 block of Interstate 30 and it involved a truck matching the description of the getaway vehicle in the robbery, police said.

"The three occupants ran away on foot," police said. "Evidence was located inside the (truck) that linked the vehicle and the suspects to the robbery on Ben Hogan Lane."

Patrol officers used the information to locate the suspects, who subsequently were arrested, police said.

The adult suspects were identified as Gustavo Tovar, 17, and Andres Luis Colin, 23, both of Dallas.

They were being held Friday afternoon at the Mansfield Jail, facing charges of aggravated robbery. Bond for both of them was set at $100,000.

The other teen's name was not available because he is was classified as a juvenile.
