A 56-year-old man was beaten with baseball bats early Wednesday in north Fort Worth by three men who stole his bicycle.

Police said that the man was riding his bicycle in the 2200 block of Azle Avenue at about 4 a.m. Wednesday when three men approached him from behind.

"The suspects began hitting the victim with baseball bats on his head and face," said Sgt. Paul Criado, Fort Worth police spokesman. The victim lost several teeth in the attack, he said.

The attackers fled after stealing the bicycle, Criado said.

The victim was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.

No arrests have been made.
