COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — FC Dallas’ momentum took a setback Saturday night when its recent road success didn’t last.

Kosuke Kimura’s 79th-minute goal was the only score of the game, giving Colorado a 1-0 victory against FC Dallas, which had managed a 1-1 tie on the same Dick’s Sporting Goods Park field June 24.

It was only the second loss in the last nine Major League Soccer games for FC Dallas (4-8-5), which had picked up 14 of its 17 standings points in that time. It had won and tied in its previous two road games, but fell back to 1-5-2 on the road this season.

Colorado (6-4-6, 24 points) ended a three-game winless streak.

Kimura notched his second goal of the season when he took a pass from Mehdi Ballouchy just outside the crease and sent the ball over FC Dallas goalkeeper Ray Burse’s left shoulder.

The closest FC Dallas came to scoring was when Jeff Cunningham, who had two goals in a victory against New York a week ago, sent a shot just outside the right post after taking a pass from Dave van den Bergh in the 69th minute.
