FLOWER MOUND -- Police appealed for help Tuesday to identify a bank robber who held a cell phone to his ear as he took an undisclosed amount of money from Washington Mutual on Monday afternoon.

Authorities released photos from surveillance cameras of the unknown man who handed a teller a note that said, “Give me the money and nothing below the counter, I have a gun.”

A $3,000 reward was offered by Flower Mound police for information leading to the arrest of the man.

The holdup happened about 5:30 p.m. Monday at Washington Mutual, 2211 Cross Timbers Road.

The man walked into the bank, handed the teller the note and then took the money, police said. He then walked out of the bank, police said. He never showed a weapon, police said.

Witnesses described the man as black about 25 to 35 years-old, about 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 with medium build. He was wearing a dark cap with a yellow letter “P”, a dark hooded jacket and dark pants.

Anyone with information can call 972-539-0525.
