With faces caked in white makeup, a man and a woman robbed a sandwich shop of about $300 late Sunday night in northeast Fort Worth, police said.

The robbery was reported at 9:10 p.m. at the Subway shop, 1100 Bridgewood Drive, said Lt. Paul Henderson, police spokesman.

It began as a woman "wearing an extreme amount of white make-up" entered the business. Witnesses also told police that she "looked very pale, like death."

The woman pulled out a pistol and ordered workers to open the cash register and unlock the back door "where a man wearing white make-up was waiting," Henderson said.

"Once inside the store the man rummaged through the register scooping up all the cash he could get his hands on," Henderson said.

The couple fled with about $300 in a white four-door "luxury type vehicle," Henderson said.

Detectives were checking to see if there was video surveillance images from the heist.

"The two are described as a white female and a black male, both wearing white cake make-up or face paint," Henderson said. "No one was injured during this incident."
