Tuesday may be one of those days during which many people will want to stay inside.

The Dallas-Fort Worth area has been placed under a level red air pollution alert for Tuesday. That level puts Tuesday's air in the "unhealthy" category.

The alert was issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, which advised that persons with chronic lung disease such as asthma or emphysema could be adversely affected. The elderly and young children could be affected, too, according to the alert.

Persons who might be sensitive to poor air quality are advised to stay indoors in air-conditioned rooms.
