FORT WORTH -- A two-vehicle wreck early Tuesday on Interstate 30 at Cherry Lane in west Fort Worth was one of 33 accidents that that popped up after 7:30 a.m. when severe thunderstorms started pounding the city.

The accident in the westbound lanes of the interstate throttled traffic down to a single lane, according to Traffic.com.

No one from that accident, however, had to go to the hospital, said a dispatcher for MedStar Ambulance Service.

The other accidents were scattered throughout the city, a police dispatcher said.

Ambulances have gone out to several accidents, the MedStar dispatcher said, but no one needed hospital care.

Reports of the accidents started reaching the police dispatch center at the same time storms rolled in from the west, the dispatcher said.

The dispatcher noted, however, that it was too early to say that all of the accidents were attributed to weather.
