NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- A golfer got an unwanted caddie Wednesday at Iron Horse Golf Course.
When he turned his back to take a swing, a 15-year-old boy hopped in his cart and drove off with the bag of clubs in tow.
The teen tried to take a mulligan, ditching the cart when he realized that he was being chased by a course employee and police, said Investigator Larry Irving, a police spokesman. All the valuables were recovered.
The teen was detained about an hour later walking along Rufe Snow Drive, Irving said. He may be charged more than penalty strokes. He was taken to a county juvenile detention facility on suspicion of theft of $1,500 to $20,000, Irving said.
