The Kennedale school district announced Monday night that it will be closing schools from Tuesday through May 11 because of the swine flu outbreak.

The district's students will join thousands of others from school districts all across Texas who are out of school because of concerns over the virus.

The district said all activities would be canceled.

Texas has had 40 confirmed cases of the swine flu as of Monday, including one death, according to the Texas State Department of Health.
