Springtown man dies in wreck on Texas 199

A 35-year-old man died and a Saginaw woman was hurt late Wednesday in a two-vehicle wreck southeast of Springtown in rural Parker County, according to reports.

The man, Garry Foster of Springtown, was identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner's office.

The accident happened about 8:50 p.m. on Texas 199, about 4.5 miles east of Springtown, according to information released by a Texas Department of Public Safety office in Weatherford.

Foster was traveling westbound in a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer in the inside lane of Texas 199, also called Jacksboro Highway, the DPS reported.

The Blazer struck a 2005 Dodge pickup that also was westbound on the highway, but in the outside lane, the DPS said.

Foster was ejected as the Blazer overturned from the collision, the DPS said. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the medical examiner's office, which handles cases for Parker County.

The collision knocked the truck off of the highway and it struck a pole, the DPS said.

A 36-year-old Saginaw woman, who was a passenger in the truck, was injured, the report stated.

It was unclear where she was taken after the accident. She complained of back pain, but she was in stable condition, according to the report.
