Every year about this time, monarch butterflies migrate south for the winter and pass through Grapevine on their way to Mexico. And each time they do, Grapevine celebrates their arrival with the Butterfly Flutterby. This year’s fun starts Saturday morning with a parade that’ll snake from Grapevine’s Liberty Park to the Cotton Belt Depot. Kids and pets in butterfly costumes are welcome to join the winged pageantry. Butterflies will be released at 10:45 a.m., 11:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. And in the meantime, there’ll be gardening seminars, butterfly arts and crafts, live entertainment, pumpkin decorating, a costume contest, and more. The parade lines up at 9:30 a.m. at Liberty Park, at the corner of East Wall and Main streets; registration starts at 8:45.Read more
