Amphibian Stage Productions hosted its annual fundraiser, the Guilty Pleasures Bash, Oct. 4 at its new Fort Worth performance space. The 1960s-themed party included food, silent and live auctions and the official announcement of Amphibian’s 2014 season. Big items from the live auction included the chance to rent the company’s theater space for movie night.
Fashion for a NewDay, the style show and luncheon benefiting NewDay Services, took place Oct. 24 at Colonial Country Club. After a champagne reception, guests enjoyed a luncheon accompanied by a style show featuring designs by French Dressing Jeans, Frank Lyman Design and Ming Wang.
Delicious Wishes, an annual fundraiser benefiting the North Texas chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, took place Sept. 19 at the Ashton Depot in Fort Worth. Fourteen food stations run by local chefs were set up around the room for guests to sample. Two local wish kids, Tori and Izzy, spoke onstage and presented gifts. Live and silent auction items included paintings, wineglasses and coffee mugs created by area Wish kids.
The Fort Worth Operas annual Opera Ball took place at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel on Sept. 21. The 53rd annual ball, themed A Fashionable Night, treated its guests to an evening of high style, with Paris-themed decor, a fashion show, casino games and a chance to win a trip to the Lela Rose runway show at the 2014 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City. Silent-auction items included sketches by Project Runway alum Austin Scarlett, who is designing costumes for one of the productions in next years Opera Festival.
To mark the opening of its blockbuster exhibit, México Inside Out: Themes in Art Since 1990, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth threw an exclusive patron party Sept. 11. Museum leaders and supporters had the chance to meet artists whose works are on display and got a first look at the exhibition, which took a year to plan and install.
The First Fête of Fall, benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters Barrett Martin Havran Little Steps Big Futures Program, took over Neiman Marcus Ridgmar on Sept. 12. Guests enjoyed food and beverages from local restaurants, as well as raffles, music by Trey & The Tritones, and celebrity designer appearances throughout the evening.
Performers Sonny Burgess, Wade Bowen, Josh Weathers and more got the evening benefiting the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at Cook Children’s Medical Center rocking.
The Texas Health Harris Methodist Foundation’s signature fundraising event, the Black & White Gala, celebrated its 21st year at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel on Aug. 3. The event included auctions, dinner and dancing. The proceeds were used to purchase an ultrasound system for a women’s wellness campaign at the Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne.
Branded, a Western-themed fashion show benefiting The Careity Foundation, was held Aug. 24 at the Cendera Center in Fort Worth. Guests enjoyed a runway show of cowboy and cowgirl fashions, along with dinner, dancing and casino games. The mistress of ceremonies was Amy Vanderoef, host of WFAA’s Good Morning Texas.
Guests at “Boxing at the Ballroom” on Aug. 23 enjoyed cocktails, a steak dinner and wine, raffles, auctions and professional boxing at the Renaissance Worthington Hotel in downtown Fort Worth. Proceeds from the event benefited the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth.
