Some of the city's biggest donors and boldest-faced names stepped out Jan. 7 for the 58th annual Jewel Charity Ball, benefiting Cook Children's Medical Center. The ball's theme was "Kaleidoscope," and the Will Rogers Coliseum in Fort Worth was transformed with giant gemstones hanging from the ballroom ceiling, a multicolored disco floor, celebrity impersonators and glittering chandeliers. Hollywood glamour arrived in town Jan. 8 as legendary actress Glenn Close walked the red carpet at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth for a very special screening of her new movie, Albert Nobbs, which opened Jan. 27 at theaters around the Metroplex.
