The Keep Mansfield Beautiful Commission and City of Mansfield Utilities Department are hosting cleanup events in in April. Volunteers of all ages are invited to attend and help clean up litter from the creeks, park trails and wooded areas.

The Texas Legislature named the bluebonnet as the state flower on March 7, 1901. They later discovered that there are actually five varieties of bluebonnets in Texas, so they are all the state flowers. What even Texans might not know is that the state flower has a smell, at least in large bunches. Check them out at the Oliver Nature Park, just don’t step on them or there will be fewer bluebonnets next year.
